The Gardens at the Village Inn

We have several gardens at the Inn. Below you see part of the herb and flower garden behind the Inn and just in front of the brook and picnic area. We also farm 10 Acres on a meadow behind the Church down by the Passumpsic river. Five acres of this meadow are grown each year to a green cover crop in preparation for the following years vegetables. We supply the vegetable stand with these vegetables and offer them to our guests free of charge if you wish to pick your dinner. Our gardens are free from pesticides and herbicides however we do use a nominal amount of fertilizer along with organic nutrients to assure us of a successful crop. We also have a plot north of here in East Haven where we grow apples and potatoes. This picture shows a beautiful display of foxglove with grape seedlings next to it and then a wide row of Johnny Jump Ups. To the right of the foxglove are the strawberries and the blackberry patch.

The 5 acre garden, turning over hairy vetch that was last years green cover crop. No pesticides and no herbicides.
